‘Spikes’ being huge this season, I couldn’t help but create a post for all my lovely readers on how to dive into the trend, with and without a budget. Being black on black, Christian Louboutin’s Lady Peep Spikes will serve to be the ideal choice for those who are a little hesitant in donning the trend. The spikes are there but rather understated. The platform is at a height of approx 2″ whereas the heel height is a good 5.9″ approx.
And for all my budget friendly divas, you’re in luck! Steve Madden’s AWWSOME pump proves to be a brilliant choice. There’s a very slight difference in the heel height where the platform height is 1″ and the heel height is 5.5″.
Spiked much? Don’t think so! Spikes are the perfect touch to add edge to that rather simple outfit. You don’t need to go overboard with the whole trend. Make sure you use them as an accent to your outfit. A huge list of celebrities have been spotted sporting this trend alongwith my fellow bloggers.
My suggestion is, pair your gold (narrow) spiked bangles/bracelets/cuffs with a gold watch and neon bangles and then flaunt! Here are some of my favourite pieces representing the trend.
What do you think, perfect touch of edge or too much edge?
To celebrate the Queen’s 60 years on the throne, Kate Middleton wore an adorable red Alexander McQueen dress alongwith her favourite LK Bennett pumps in nude, a Sylvia Fletcher fascinator and a stunning Alexander Mcqueen clutch sans skull clasp.
Kim Kardashian was out and about in her McQueen dress paired with a gorgeous pair of Christian Louboutin ‘Lady Daf’ snakeskin platform pumps, an Erikson Beamon necklace and a Jimmy Choo ‘Candy’ clutch.
While they both stood out in their respective ways and despite the fact that I’m not big on the colour red, my love for fascinators makes Kate win this round for me.
What more can one ask for but a statement cuff in a bold shade. This Emilio Pucci Plexiglass and Crystal Cuff is set to bring life to any outfit. The stunning purple crystals on top perfectly gel with the pink nature of this cuff.
The cuff retails for around $990 but you can grab your hands on it on a 50% off price tag of $495 here! Net-A-Porter is down to its final reductions so hurry while you can.
I suggest mixing this season’s trend of ‘mint’ alongwith this pink cuff. Wear this cuff with an all white boyfriend top, mint denims/trousers and coral/pink pumps and strike a pose!
Here’s my take on how to wear this gorgeous statement piece.
